In addition to being the keepers of sacred traditions and a rich heritage that spans decades of our leather culture and history, LeatherSIR and Leatherboy titleholders are community leaders and community builders. Across North America LeatherSIR and Leatherboy titleholders are also devoted to fundraising in their local and regional communities, raising tens of thousands of dollars for community organizations and concerns. For instance, when Hurricane Katrina struck, the LeatherSIR/Leatherboy family stepped forward to create a special hurricane relief fund. This fund has now evolved to become the Leather Tribe Relief Fund - a fund especially designated for leather folk in need. |
